Copywriting

Last spring, I took a copywriting course at DePaul and ended up loving it. Throughout the course, we developed an entire advertising campaign for a company that we felt could benefit from a new, more creative type of advertising. I chose Naked Juice, and my work includes: an overall strategy statement, tagline, headlines, and body copy, as well as print ads, television commercials, radio ads, sales promos, and billboards. During a PR writing course at DePaul, I learned how to perfect all types of PR documents. Pitch letters, apology letters, news releases, fact sheets, boilerplates, CEO messages, crisis speeches, company tweets and texts, you name it. Now I'm comfotable with any PR writing challenge thrown my way. The button above will show you examples of these documents written for a fictional Hidden Valley Ranch PR event that I created as part of the course.

While I've always loved creative writing, I've become more and more confident in my communications writing abilities throughout DePaul's Public Relations and Advertising program. Each course required different sorts of writing assignments, all of which I'm proud of. Click the button above to view samples of a statement of work, advertising strategy, and analytical writing.

In undergrad I realized my passion for creative writing. I wrote hundreds of poems, prose pieces, and creative nonfiction stories; and even published a compilation of my collected works. I believe that storytelling and the ability to create imagery through words is one of the most important skills a writer can possess.
